Epi-Patch, Inc. introduces ProPatch for Golf.
The 1st patented band-aid size wrist wearable devices that provide real-time biofeedback, coaching, and analytics.
These devices emphasize Bobby Jones' instructional method to "keep the wrist flat when you hit the ball." In short, this family of innovative devices emphasizes, with biofeedback cues, the importance of striking the ball crisply with a forward shaft lean, and hands in front of the ball, at impact.
The recently patented ProPatch from Epi-Patch, Inc. visual/proof-of-principle prototype was previously introduced at the Inventor's Spotlight, PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, January 24 - 26, 2018. Booth 3592. The now patented device is the invention of Russell Copelan, MD, former medical consultant to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

The following information applies to the disposable electronic unit. A rechargeable device, with data storage and tethering capabilities, is currently under development by South Bay Circuits, Chandler, AZ.
1. "What does ProPatch look like?" The pre-production ProPatch prototype can be viewed on the product image page. Soon, there will be a pallet of available colors.
2. "How big is the ProPatch?" The device measures approximately one inch wide, three inches long, and 1/8 inch thick (about the size of a 'band-aid.' In contrast, PRO2J measures 1/2" wide, one and one-half inches long, and available in 1/32 and 1/64 inches thick.
3. "How is ProPatch attached?" A novel stacking of disposable adhesive layers, like a 6 layer cake, provide a secure attachment to the skin. This 'peel and place', 'band-aid'-like adhesive is humidity resistant and hypoallergenic. A single adhesive layer can be used for a couple of cycles before a new layer exposed for use.
4. "How do I use ProPatch?" Apply the device to the leading or forward wrist before swing or putting practice. Align the ProPatch across the back of the wrist joint at a 90 degree angle to the crease, its length in line with the forearm. Approximately half of the device should be below the wrist crease (on the back of the hand), and half above the crease (on the back of the lower arm).
5. "How do I turn ProPatch on?" Simply depress the power push button. A pre-programmed 5 minute cycle is turned on. The cycle cannot be stopped. At the end of this time period, the device will automatically turn off. To start a new training cycle, press the on button.
6. "How do I know that the device is working?" Once powered up by pressing the button, the LED light will show a slow light pulse. When the wrist is moved beyond the pre-programmed angle for correct wrist positions at takeaway, backswing, or impact, the LED pulse light will rapidly blink with a vibration sensation (like a cell phone message alert). When the wrist positions return to proper angles, the LED light and vibration tickle will power down, once again showing a slow LED light pulse.
